The LAPD12 Symposium is the continuation of a biennial series
which was originally inaugurated in 1983 and which has been
alternatingly organized in Japan, Europe and the United States.
The Symposium brings together physicists from various disciplines
including laser physics, low-temperature plasma chemistry and physics
and nuclear fusion.
The Symposium is an important and fruitful source for
cross-fertilization between these fields.
The topics for the Symposium include laser diagnostics and diagnostics
aided by lasers for fusion plasmas, industrial process plasmas,
environmental plasmas as well as for other plasma applications and
processes related to plasmas.
Hardware developments related to laser-aided plasma diagnostics is
another topic that is emphasized.
The LAPD12 will be held in scenic Snowbird, Utah and is hosted
by Professor N.C. Luhmann, Jr. at University of California, Davis.
