in collaboration with Varian Associates with
- 10 kW average power,
- 20% efficiency,
- 30 dB gain
- 3% bandwidth
- Test scaled device at 10 GHz
Approach
- Gyro-TWT yields high power with wide bandwidth
- Slotted circuit increases
interaction strength for low-voltage electron beam
- Harmonic interaction reduces required low magnetic field
- Use gyroresonant rf-accelerator to produce requisite
axis-encircling electron beam for scaled tests
