DIELECTRIC - LOADED WIDEBAND GYRO - TWT AMPLIFIER

Objective:

Broaden bandwidth of gyro-TWT amplifiers from typical 3% value to >10%.

Approach:

Partially load interaction waveguide with dielectric to reduce dispersion of circuit.

Accomplishments:

The successful Dielectric-Loaded Wideband Gyro-TWT Amplifier yielded 11% constant-drive bandwidth with an output power of 55 kW, 11% efficiency, 27 dB large-signal gain and complete stability.
